Part of ministering to our neighbors is through the Outreach Mission of the church. We welcome others to partner with us as Mohawk Church loves our neighbors in the name of Christ.
As natural disasters and other disastrous events take place across the country and around the world, Mohawk UMC is quick to respond with contributions to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief). To help with disaster recovery, as the events occur, checks may be written to "Mohawk United Methodist Church". Please contact the church office or treasurer to learn the "Advance Directive" number to write on the memo line. 100% of your donation will go to the named project. Gifts may also be given online at www.umcor.org
Mohawk Church supports, with funds and prayers, our global Missionary:
David Roney in Latvia ()
Also, a mission team travels yearly (our 2020 trip had to be canceled) to the United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR) Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Chatham, IL. At our last trip, in May of 2019, they assembled disaster response kits (such as cleaning buckets, health kits, school kits, etc.) and did a variety of other service projects. The next trip is anticipated to take place in 2022, after the COVID-19 pandemic threat is over.
We provide support to a number of local missions. Here are just a few that we regularly help:
Hancock County Food Pantry
Hancock County Thanksgiving Dinner
Pendleton Juvenile Corrections Facility
Souper Bowl of Caring
Hancock County Back Pack Attack
Where will your gifts, talents, abilities, and desire help serve in the name of Jesus Christ? There are plenty of ministry opportunities that reach out from our "base" at Mohawk Church. Whether you like to work with the youth, minister to the seniors, or would rather work behind the scenes, you are sure to find a mission or ministry opportunity that suits you.
